Mr Kakeru Ode

Senior Orthoptist

Singapore National Eye Centre


Kakeru is an experienced orthoptist with 10 years of practice and has a clinical interest in neuro-ophthalmology and visual rehabilitation. A graduate of the University of Sheffield, UK, with an MMedSci in Vision and Strabismus, he was instrumental in the development of a stroke and traumatic brain injury visual rehabilitation protocol in SNEC.


Currently, Kakeru is the first orthoptist in SingHealth undergoing advanced clinical practice training in neuro-ophthalmology and paediatric ophthalmology.


Passionate about education and raising awareness of the Orthoptics profession, Kakeru actively fosters collaboration with healthcare professionals to enhance multi-disciplinary patient care.
